Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
This week I read a folktale called Father and Son Tales. The author is Josephine Evetts- Secker.
There were a lot of stories in the book but I will talk about one. I liked all the stories but my favorite one is called Daedalus and Icarous. I liked that story because it was the only story that showed father and son bonding. I want to tell you about the events in the book.
The characters in that story are Daedalus, Icarus, The king Minos and the queen Pasiphae. Daedalus is a famous sculptor who was asked by a king and a queen from another kingdom to build a household in Crete.
The setting takes place at a rich and powerful kingdom in Greek. The weather is sunny and the climate is hot with the sun's rays spreading everywhere.
The plot of this story is about a famous sculptor and artist called Daedalus. He's popularity spread everywhere. A king and a queen called Minos and Pasiphae from a powerful kingdom heard about Daedalus's work and wanted him to come and work on a household in Crete. Daedalus went over there with his son and started to work on the project that was instructed him to. They worked on it days and were getting tired, but Minos would not let them go until their assignment was completed. Icarus then said something that gave his father an idea. He said that he wished they had wings so they could fly back home. Daedalus then thought about his son's idea and decided to build wings so they could get out of that kingdom. When they finished to build their wings. they tested it out and rose slowly to the sky. Daedalus told his son to be near him so he won't fall down the sea. As they flew, Daedalus saw his son ahead of him and told him to come close to him, but it was to late, Icarus fell down into the sea. Daedalus looked down over the ocean to look for his son but he was no where to be seen. Now ever since that day, the sea that Icarus drowned into was named after him- The Icarian Sea.
The conflict of the story is that Minos won't let Daedalus and Icarus get out of the his kingdom until they were done with the project.
The resolution is that Daedalus and his son build wings and flew across the sky to be free from Minos's kingdom.
I liked this story because it showed father and son doing something together and getting along which is also a theme of the title of the book. I think it was an interesting and a little sad story.
My favorite part is that the sea that Icarus drowned into, was named after him. That showed the reader that Icarus will always be remembered.
My least favorite part is when Icarus drowned into the ocean. That was very sad because they were about to arrive back to their home and then he just fell down. Also it's sad for Daedalus to return back home without his son!!:(
Well. that is it. I hoped you liked my blog and how I wrote it!!!:)

Adi Binyamin's Reader's Journal #3
Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
I finally finished my book!(:
I want to tell you about the rest of the events.
The plot of the book is about a girl named Harriet and she loves to write. By writing, I mean she likes to spy on people and writes in her notebook about them. No matter where Harriet hid to spy on people, she never got caught. One day at school Harriet and some of her friends were playing tag. There was one person who had to knock the other person's books out of their hands. Sport was the one knocking of the books. After the he got all the victims out, then everyone picked up their supplies from the floor. Harriet got her things but her notebook for her spy routine was MISSING! Harriet started to look and look but couldn't find it until she saw it in Janie's hands. She begin to read all the stuff that was written inside the notebook out loud to everyone. They all heard the mean things Harriet had wrote about them and they all were mad and disappointed. Days and weeks past and no one was talking to Harriet. All of the victims started a club about her. At the end of the book, Janie and sport(Harriet's best friends) bumped into Harriet and all three of them walked together and were friends again.
The resolution was that Harriet was forgiven by Janie and Sport and they were good friends again.
My favorite part is when Janie and Sport forgave Harriet because that showed that they both cared about their friendship with Harriet unlike the rest of the classmates who weren't being mature enough to forgive Harriet and forget what had happened.
My least favorite part is when Harriet's classmates made a club about her and started to do and say mean things to her. I know that they maybe just wanted to show Harriet how it feels to get your feelings hurt, but they were still being immature instead of just ignoring what they heard.
I hope you liked my blog and understood what happened in the book!(:

Adi Binyamin's Reader's Journal #2
Dear Mrs. Zrihen,
I'm reading this book called Harriet the Spy, written by Louise Fitzhugh. I never read a book published by her but this book that I'm reading is very interesting so I'm assuming she has more interesting books. I wanna tell you about the events in the story.
The characters in the book are Harriet, Sport, Ole Golly, Jane, and all of Harriet's friends who found out what she had wrote in her secret notebook about them. Harriet wants to be a spy so she writes down everything she observes that is going on around her and what she thinks about those people. She also goes nearby people's houses and spies on them from their window.
The setting of the book takes place at Harriet's house, school, and on the street where Harriet goes to spy on people. All of those settings take time during the day. The weather is nice without a rain or storm in sight.
The conflict of the story is that Harriet lost her notebook for her spying routine and she can't find it.
Some of her friends saw the book and read it. They saw all the negative comments Harriet had wrote about them. No body wanted to be her friend or talk to her.
My personal feelings about the book are that it's interesting but some parts don't really make sense. Besides that, the book is adventurous because it's a spy who goes to many different places to spy on people. It's also a mystery because when Harriet writes in her notebook, she only writes what she hears and comes back next day to hear more about her victim. The mystery part is that she discovers each day a new secret about that person.
Next Week I will right about the plot, resolution, and my least and favorite parts because I didn't get to those parts in the book yet. Hoped you liked the rest of my events.
Love,
Adi<3

Adi Binyamin's Reader's Journal #1
Dear Dore,
Last week I read this book called as long as were together by Judy Blume.
I wanna tell you about the events in the book.
The characters are Rachel, Stephanie, and Allison.Rachel and Stephanie were best friends first since 2nd grade. In their neighborhood Stephanie met Allison and introduced her to Rachel. Rachel at first didn't like Allison because she seemed strange. She also felt that Allison is now Stephanie's best friend and she got jealous. Throughout the story they all hung out together so Rachel became less worried and liked Allison better. They all became best friends.
The setting took place mostly at school and at Stephanie's house. It took time at day. Evening was mentioned sometimes.. The weather was nice and sunny with no rain or storms. The climate was hot and it was cold and snowing.
The plot is about two best friends named Rachel and Stephanie. Stephanie moved into Rachel's neighborhood and they hung out everyday. One day Stephanie met a girl named Allison. They became really good friends. Rachel didn't like Allison that much and she didn't like the way she was replaced by her. Then Rachel and Stephanie had a fight. Everyday they would hang out with a different friend. They didn't talk to each other for weeks. One afternoon they walked to their houses and started talking. They talked about their problems and forgave each other. They were all friends again.
The conflict was that Stephanie made a new friend and Rachel was jealous. Allison and Stephanie hung out everyday. They started to do more things together rather than doing it with Rachel. Rachel had other things on her mind than doing fun but she did feel left out most of the times.
The resolution was after Rachel and Stephanie had their fight, they decided to talk to each other and say how they both truly feel. They both understood one another and became friends again. All three of them hung out together all the time and no one was left out alone.
My personal opinions about the book are that it's really interesting about how the characters react and change through out the story and also the book is about my favorite topic which is friendship. I love to read a book about friendships because I can relate to it in real life. I think some people can learn from these kind of books about true friendship and who you can really trust. I have a lot of best friends and I love them all.
My favorite part of the book is when Rachel and Stephanie made up. I liked that part because I also have fights with my friends and we also talk it out and make up. I also liked it because they apologized and were both mature enough to admit that they did something wrong.
My least favorite part was when Rachel spilled out that Stephanie's parents are gonna get a divorce. I disliked that part because it was really mean and it wasn't her business. It was really and rude. I would have never done what Rachel did, even if I'm mad at friend. A secret is a secret.
Well, that's all I can write. Hope you liked it and got the idea what the book is about.
Love,
Adi Binyamin.
