Dear Dore,
This week was a mystery and I read The 39 Clues: One False Note. The author is Gordon Korman. I didn't know that for each series there's going to be a different author. Well, the first book and the second book are great and they are so descriptive that I can actually travel through it vicariously. Let me tell you what happened in the book (even though you already know.)
The characters in the book are Amy, Dan, Nellie Gomez, Alistair Oh, Ian, Natalie, The Holts, Mr. McIntrye, and the man in black. Now if anyone wants to know about those characters, go to my Readers's Journal #8 and you will see it!
The setting takes place in Vienna, Austria and Venice, Italy where Amy, Dan and the rest of the competitors continue to find the 39 clues.
The plot of the book is about two kids named Amy and Dan. They have no parents and they are currently supposed to live with their aunt, but she's so mean and rude them. Their grandmother, Grace passed away and she's the one who set the challenge that was an option of taking 2 million dollars or take a challenge to lead you to be the most powerful member in your family. Basically, in the first book the competitors started in Paris where the first clue was lead too. Now all the competitors are at different speed and different places. Dan and Amy are now doing great and they are finding the clues pretty fast and they are working in a good teamwork. What they're doing now, is instead of other challengers stealing their clues like before, they are doing their best to take clues from other competitors because now the contest is getting harder and they think that this will the best thing that can keep them alive in the game. Wow, I'm really interested in reading the 3rd book! I heard good stuff is going to happen!:)
Again, there's no really a resolution until you read the whole entire series. I actually hope that there's going to be a happy ending because with all the things that are so far happening in the book, you don't really know what to expect at the end, probably unlikely surprises.
My personal opinion about the book is that it's a great mystery and you can actually imagine yourself in that book doing all the things the characters are doing. The author really knows how to write a neat, organized, and descriptive book. I really hope that one day when I get older I can write like the authors do with a rich vocabulary.
My favorite part of the book is when Dan and Amy are keep on finding clues because that means they are on their way to winning the contest. I also like how they are working a good teamwork, I know that will never work with my brother!
My least favorite part is that that the Social Services are still looking for Dan and Amy after their aunt couldn't find them in Boston and decided to call them. I don't like that part because Amy and Dan are such good kids and they don't deserve to be sent away to foster care being away from each other which is the only thing they will have if that event will happen!
Dore I hoped you understood my summary better than the book and I hoped that I made a good summary on top of all!:) Love you Dore and looking forward for reading your blog also!:) LOVE YOU!<3

ReplyDeleteThank you for those generous comments! You, Sharon, and Itay really like my blogs and I appreciate that! This means I'm a good writer!!:D
And yes, I did enjoy this book and I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the whole series!
I can relate this book to real life because Itay and I can also work in a good team work and sometimes we can argue with one another.
I like how the author left mysterious phrases at the end and how he actually left the reader curious and interested! I know I was!!!:)
I think Dan and Amy will keep on finding clues and will be ahead of everyone else and eventually win!!:)
Nice questions Gabby and I liked answering them!!!:)
